Natural History of the Olympic Peninsula

Coke has had the pleasure of being a naturalist and instructor of natural history of the Olympic Peninsula for nearly a decade now.  The pages in this section of our website highlight, with images, links and basic information, the natural history of this phenomenal part of North America.

Virtual Insect Collection

Coke once owned one of the largest private insect collections on the planet.  With over 10,000 species of beetles, the collection is an important repository of many rare and scientifically important specimens.  Two families (Cerambycidae & Scarabaeidae) are emphasized in the collection but one can view images of other coleoptera and insects in the numerous images in this spectacular virtual collection.  I keep these galleries open so people can appreciate what a large working collection is.
